Precision Cryotherapy for Selected Benign Skin Lesions
A targeted treatment designed to freeze selected unwanted skin lesions with accuracy and minimal disruption to surrounding skin.
What Is CryoPen®?
CryoPen® is a precision cryotherapy device used to treat selected benign skin lesions by delivering a controlled jet of cold nitrous oxide directly to the treatment area. The targeted application freezes the unwanted tissue while limiting exposure to the surrounding skin. Treatment is quick and does not usually require cutting, stitches or dressings. A consultation is required to confirm that the lesion is suitable for cosmetic cryotherapy. Any lesion that is uncertain, changing or clinically concerning should be assessed through the appropriate medical pathway rather than treated cosmetically.
How CryoPen® Works
The device applies a focused stream of nitrous oxide to the selected lesion. Rapid freezing damages the targeted tissue, which then naturally breaks down and sheds as the skin heals. The number and length of freeze cycles depend on the lesion’s type, size, thickness and location.

Treatment Process
Consultation
The practitioner assesses the lesion, discusses its history and confirms whether
cosmetic cryotherapy is appropriate.
Treatment
The CryoPen® tip is positioned over the lesion and a controlled freeze is applied. More than one cycle may be required.
Aftercare
The area is left to heal naturally. You will receive guidance on cleansing, protecting and monitoring the treated skin.
Review
Some lesions require more than one session. A follow-up may be recommended once
healing is complete.
Recovery & Aftercare
The treated area may appear red, swollen or darker immediately after treatment. A blister or crust can form as part of the normal healing response. Do not pick or remove the crust. Keep the area clean, follow the aftercare instructions and protect healing skin from sun exposure.
Healing time varies according to the lesion and treatment area. Temporary changes in skin colour can occur, and in some cases these changes may last longer. Contact the clinic if you experience unexpected pain, spreading redness, discharge or another concerning symptom.
Expected Results
The treated lesion generally changes in appearance as the tissue responds and the skin heals. Smaller lesions may improve after one session, while thicker, larger or more resistant lesions may require repeat treatment. No result can be guaranteed.
Investment
Pricing to be confirmed according to the number, type, size and location of lesions treated.
FAQs
Does CryoPen® treatment hurt?
Clients may feel a brief cold, stinging or burning sensation during treatment. Sensitivity can continue for a short time afterwards.
How long does the appointment take?
Treatment itself is usually quick, although the total appointment time depends on assessment and the number of lesions treated.
Will one session be enough?
Some lesions respond to one treatment, while others require repeat sessions after the area has healed.
Can every skin lesion be treated?
No. CryoPen® is intended only for selected lesions considered appropriate following assessment. Suspicious, uncertain or changing lesions should not be treated cosmetically.
What happens after treatment?
Redness, swelling, blistering, crusting or temporary colour change may occur. The treated tissue naturally resolves as the area heals.
Can CryoPen® leave a mark?
Temporary or longer-lasting pigment change and, less commonly, scarring can occur. Your practitioner will discuss the risks before treatment.
Can several lesions be treated together?
Yes, where clinically appropriate. The practitioner will confirm what can safely be treated during one appointment.
Can I book treatment without a consultation?
No. The lesion must be assessed before treatment to confirm suitability.
